Happy Canada Day

Happy Canada Day!!  July 1st already.  Dana and I made pancakes and the boys stayed home while we went to the parade.  (the boys didn't want to go to the parade) Silly boys.

Dana and I walked to our usual spot for the parade but as we rounded the corner no one was there so we walked home and jumped in the van to go find where the parade was.  There was NO parade route in the paper so I thought it was the same as before.  I love how they the town change things without letting anyone know.  We ran into several other people who were not knowing where the route was too.   We parked at the library and walked to the high school and got a spot.   There was two officers on bikes that came before then the parade started.

The parade was good this year.  A couple of years ago it was a "green" parade and it was over in less than 5 minutes.  This year was good, lots of different things and cars and such.  Dana and I had fun.

We went home and cleaned up a bit then after supper we headed down to the midway.  Dana and Nick could not wait to go.  (I was hoping it would rain so we could just stay home.  But that would not be fun on Canada Day)  There was lots of people and this year I was more prepared on how things worked so it was much much better.  Dana and Nick had a blast.

This was Dana's favorite ride Star Trooper she went on it with Nick and by herself.  She loved this ride so much she went on it 5 times.

Nick and Dana both liked this ride too.  They went on it a few times.  Love the looks on their faces.

This was Nick's favorite ride the Octopus he went on it a few times.  It was hard to get a picture because it moved so fast.

Paul and Nick waiting in line for the Octopus and Dana and I are waiting in line for the Tilt a whirl right across from each other.  It was a nice night for the midway.

The fireworks were good but they should have waited another hour till it was DARK, it was much too light out so the fireworks were not as bright as they should have been.

We ran into Micheal and his Mom Cathy so the kids went on the rides together and we sat together during the fireworks too.  It was good to see kids from school.  Mike and Nick played hockey together this year.

Going home after the rides and fireworks.  We got home about 11:30 and were all ready to climb in bed and sleep.  HAPPY CANADA DAY 2011.
