Awesome day today

Nicholas, Dana, Paul and I had a fabulous day today.  (Dex had to work)  We went into town and did not tell Dana what we were doing.  Soon as we pulled into the Exhibition grounds she said I smell horses.  And I gave her the tickets and she was so excited.  We headed right to the barn to see the horses and meet some of the riders then we headed to find a place to sit.  First was the Oromocto Legion Colour Party, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment, RCA Band and then the Callander Hall Equestrian Team, K-9 Demonstration and then RCMP Musical Ride.

The K-9 demo was awesome those dogs are so fast and Dana and Nick think that we should get Sasha to be a K-9 Dog.  The RCMP Musical Ride was awesome, it was defiantly worth sitting under the hot sun to see them.  I felt bad for the horses and riders, it was so hot and their uniforms are made out of wool.  Hot Hot Hot.

The K-9 dogs were so fast I had never seen in real life going after a "bad guy" before, you know bad guys are stupid if they think they can out run a dog.  The "bad guy" was caught in under 7 seconds.

This dog Rudolf ran, jumped and in one swoop knocked the bad guy down.  He was the fastest dog out of the three.  Shepard's are so smart.

The Equestrian Team was fun to watch too, there were six of them and the horses had little bells in their tails.

When Vancouver hosted Expo 86 I got to see the RCMP Musical Ride and it was so cool seeing the horses and riders I had never seen anything like that before, so when I saw a poster saying it was going to be in town I knew I had to take Dana to the show.  I think that Dana found her dream job riding a horse (and a black one also, black horses are her favorite) and everything that goes with it.  She would brush, talk to and ride a horse all day if she could. (Gee that sounds like me at her age) The riders and poor horses were so hot before they came on the stood in the back in some shade.

I have more photo's to share but it is time for bed.  I took 143 pictures and Paul took some photos and video also.  There are pictures in the barn and the rest of what we saw today.  We had so much fun today hanging out.

Last night Dana woke up 1:30am and put a sign up on her door saying wake me up by tickling my toes and if that does not work ring the cow bell.  What a funny girl.  Then Nick woke up at 3:30 because one of his bandages came off and he wanted a new one, and then Dex woke us up at 6:00am to take him to work.  What a fun night it was.

Last soccer game, clothes on the line Dex style

Last night was Nick's last soccer game.  It was really nice out and no humidity which was awesome.  Nick loves to be playing any sport and he has such a talent for playing them.  His team was missing a couple of players but they still won the game.  Nick scored 3 times.

The next pic is Nick kicking the ball in and ........ scoring a goal.  It was a sweet kick and I um missed videoing it because I was talking to my new bud Zack who is 4 in real life but on his soccer jersey he is 2.  He was a funny little kid.

You may have noticed that Nicholas fingers are covered in the above picture, all I am going to say about it is that I am so grateful that I can call Arlene and she will talk me through any medical crisis that I may be going through at that time, and hopefully Nick has learned a lesson.

The other day when it was raining Nick and I played chess and checkers, then Dana decided that she wanted to learn so I played a game with her and then yesterday Nick and Dana played.  It is cute to see them play.

Yesterday I asked Dex if he wanted to come with me when Gabby got her shots or did he want to hang the clothes on the line?  He said he would hang the clothes on the line so when Paul and I got home he had indeed got the clothes on the line and those clothes were NOT going to fall off.  I laughed and laughed what a kid.  The clothes were hung up and Dex work clothes were dry by the time he had to go to work, that is all that is important I guess.

Gabby loves to sit on your shoulders and lick and nibble on your ear.  It tickles so much and her tongue is so little that she can stick it in your ear.

skate park,

Nick and I went to the skate park with Logan and his Mom.  Nick didn't want me to video him so I was trying to be sneaky.  Nick is such a good skater.  I do not know how he stays on the board with out falling off and breaking something.  Nick says it is so easy to stay on a board.

Old stuff

Today after Nick and I had breakfast we headed to Crappy tire to get some pool mini pucks and wondered around then we came home and I remembered that I had video's on the camera so I up loaded them.  Paul and I need some practice it seems but there are some that are keepers.

The first one is of Nick and Brody in the snow playing.  OH the snow and what fun they were having.  I think this was one of the days that school got cancelled.

The next one is during winter hockey the opposing team shoots on Nick twice then our team gets the puck goes down to the other end and Nick's friend Hunter scores a goal.

The next one is the last performance that OHS Glee club did, Dex is in the back along with his friend Kyle.  It is about 5 min long.  Dex had fun with the Glee club, a pretty nice group of kids having fun together.

I thought that these would be fun to watch but to up load a 6 minute video has taken over 1 hour.  I did not think that it should take that long.   Now it has been 2 hours of up loading and it is still not done.  So I think I am going to cancel it, I need to go to bed and I have a busy day tomorrow.  I will have to think of something else for the video.  I had a couple of ones to put on the Glee club did such a good job and Dana and I had a really good time at the show.  I hope that Dex joins up again this year.

Yard work, washing bikes.

Today was a productive day we got the lawns mowed, laundry done, bikes washed and pool worked on.  But first Khloe came by to visit again on friday.  Dana was asleep when she came but as soon as we said Khloe was here she sat up and said Khloe?  Too funny.

Here they are downstairs hanging out, Rebecca had a sleep over so Khloe jumped right in the middle of them.  Then they came up for some breakfast/lunch they wanted french toast then they headed upstairs to Dana's room.
The three of them got along great and we heard lots of giggling coming from upstairs.  I was happy for Dana, it was so good to hear her laughing with some girls.

At one point during the day I was looking and looking for Gabby and could not find her so I asked Paul and the kids nobody had seen her so Paul and I were looking then all of sudden Paul says I found her.  She was asleep in her kennel, the place were she should be sleeping and yet I never looked there.

Paul got the lawn mowed as I was cleaning up the yard (toys, dog poop etc.) I wanted to get the pump turned on for the pool and it would not go on.  So my handy hubby took the pump apart jiggled some wires and walla pump is working again.  It is so nice to have a handy hubby.  Also this morning when he took the dogs out he started doing the dishes so when I came down he had them half done, that was such a nice surprise.

One of the holes that we had patched was starting to come off so Paul and I fixed it and I told Dexter because he never mowed the lawn (his job) he was going to have to pump up the air tube that goes around the pool.

I thought I would video Dex as proof that he actually did something productive today.  Way to go Dex so proud of you.  :-)

Dana and Nick decided that their bikes needed a bath so they got out the bikes and hose and washed their bikes.  Gabby loves to play in water, Sasha does not.

Here are a couple of video's of the kids washing there bikes.

The next one look and see what shoes Nick is wearing, yep Nick is wearing my flip flops, I told him NOT to wear his shoes so he grabs mine, silly kid.  Too bad they were not pink or flowered or something.

When Paul took Dex went to work Paul went to work too, he wanted to work on his cabinet and get some work done on it.  It is doing to be awesome when it is finished.  Paul is working on the drawers now, he was sanding them down.

Nick and I played a game of chess, and Nick won I have never been good at chess, but I think some of the moves were not right.  Then we played checkers and Nick was surprised when I beat him.

Rebecca called and Dana thought it was to play so she got on her bike to go meet her but ended up going all the way to her house and then finding out that she couldn't play.  Dana was not impressed at all but at least she got to go for a bike ride.

Soccer in the rain

What an exciting game, it poured the whole time pretty much and Nick was dripping wet but he loved every minute of the game.  He was playing against a kid that he played hockey with and said at the end of the game that he does not play soccer any better than he plays hockey.  The team had practice for the first half hour then the game started.  Nick gives it his all, and in the end had scored 5 goals.  They won 12-0, I felt bad for the other team though the poor kids tried but we have a stronger team.

I am going to try and upload a video the first one (if it works is of Nick and another kid falling over each other)

Nick is number 7 wearing the yellow jersey it is kind of hard to see him the whole time in the next video but he goes from one end of the field passes it and they go down to the other end and he gets the ball again and tries to score.  He is all over the field.

After the game was finished Nick said that he loves playing soccer in the rain it  the best.  Then he said he hopes that it is raining for the rest of the games.

Nick is the first yellow shirt player you can sort of see his number 7.

Nick was one happy boy, and before his game he was at the skate park with Brody for 2 and half hours skating around and then he goes and plays soccer and runs around.  Man I wish I had his energy.

Before his game Nick, Brody, Sasha and Gabby were all in Sasha's dog kennel because Nick said that they all had a penalty, I could not believe that they all fit.

Earlier that day I had started to clean out the hallway closet and Paul came and helped so it went fast.  I got all the laundry baskets and put the sheets and towel in the baskets and then Paul and I re-folded the ones that needed to be folded then put them back in the closet.  It was a good job done and looks so much better.  And it was fun because Paul and I did it together.

Nick cooking and the wharf

A few days ago Nick said he wanted to cook for supper again, so we made sure we had what he wanted and away he went cooking Nick's supper.  His friend Logan was here too and helped with making supper.  It was cute to watch them cook.  Nick didn't want any help again and when he asked to make supper he couldn't remember all he needed so I went back in my pictures and showed him.  Thank goodness for pictures.  Logan is cutting and eating the pickles.  I think Nick needs to come up with a name for his sandwich.

Rebecca and Brody were over the other day and so we went down to the wharf again.  Paul even came with us.   When we got down there some kids that went to school with both Dana and Nick were there.  All three of the boys are a grade in between Dana and Nick.  Talon, Terrance and Anthony we have known them since they where in grade 1.  Talon (the biggest one) is the sweetest guy he would never hurt a fly.   I like Talon and hope that he does not change, he goes into grade 6 and goes to ridgeview and there it seems some of them loose there way and start getting into trouble.  It is sad.  Terrance (the middle sized boy) is another good kid he played basketball with Nick (yes Jodi that is the kid who got into trouble but was still able to play but Nick was not allowed) he is a little goofy and gets into a bit of trouble but nothing to serious.  Just being a boy and being silly, he is not rude to adults.  Anthony is very shy but a good kid.  He had got a piece of glass in his foot so we were all around him and Terrance, Anthony and Talon were sitting down beside him and Talon and I were telling him he needed to get it taken out so he was trying but couldn't get it so Talon says to him let T (that is what Terrance's friends call him) take it out so after a couple of tries he says T you get it, not a problem it was out.

So the kids had a great time with some extra kids to play with.  Nick and Brody said the water was too cold so they didn't get in too much, I told Talon to throw Nick in the water, he said ya sure?  I said yep go for it.  Talon threw him in.

Dana, Nick, Brody, Anthony, Talon, and Terrance diving.

Rebecca and Dana were in the water right away they are little fish.

This is Nick and Brody standing on the edge.  This is as far as they would get wet.

Talon is throwing Nick in the water.  I thought once he got wet that Nick would get in the water and stay but he said that the water was tooo cold.

Yes even I jumped in the water.  I dove in a couple of times swam out and dove in again and that was enough for me.  I thought the water was refreshing (temperature wise not color wise)

While we were there the Military Griffin Helicopter were flying by, at first I thought they were just flying then I took a picture and could tell that there were people sitting in the back with the doors opened.  It took a few times of them flying by and then down the river for me to see that the guys in the back were jumping out into the water then being picked up in boats.  It was cool to watch them.

In the pic above, if was bigger you would be able to see the guys jumping out of the chopper.  It was pretty cool to see them flying around and then the guys jumping out and then seeing the boats.  I think that would be fun to do.

These last pictures I was sitting in the van with Paul looking down at the kids playing.  Nick and Brody did at the very end jump in the water.  Way to go boys.  Talon was teasing Nick about throwing him in again.

All the kids are pushing on the cattle ferry trying to move it,  I think it might have moved a sliver.

We even saw a guy getting his scuba gear on, he went in the water but came back out saying that it was too dark.

And we saw a furry friend who was having fun in/on the garbage can.
