Hair cuts, hockey

Nick and I decided that we would like to get our hair cut too.  When ever I try and get a good picture of Nick he is always silly.  So on Minda after I did hot lunch Nick came with me to the cross walk and had lunch with me then we went and got our hair cut.

We have been having the Sister Missionaries over for supper and the dogs love them.  They come every Thursday and they put in there order for supper.  By having them say what they would like to eat has relieved a lot of stress on me.  I do not mind having people over but trying to decide what to feed them just stresses me right out.

Brody, Brock and Nick had a hockey game in the driveway the other day.  It is fun to watch them play.

We had a game in Heartland and Nick and I carpooled with Brock and his Mom Victoria.  The rink was an old barn it was weird and cold.  It was not a good game at all and the boys feel asleep on the way home.

Nick also got asked to be the goalie for the Fredericton Flames AAA hockey team for the spring.  He was so excited and has had one practise already and loved it.

Katherine came over and we played on the Wii.  She loves to play the Wii and is very competitive.  She loves it when she beats Dexter.

Out door rink, Dana's hair and Katherine

Wow has it ever been a while since I blogged.  It has been busy around here.  A couple of weeks ago I took Nick and his friend Brody to the outdoor rink.  It was fun to watch them skate around, and especially Nick he can sure fly with out his goalie gear on.  Nick and Brody were the only ones but in a few minutes some other kids showed up and they had a hockey game.  I sat in the van and tried to keep warm.

I also got another phone call about Dana's hair.  They do not seem to realise how sensitive her head is. Yes if she would comb it every single day then it would be fine but she does not then it gets tangles in it and is painful.  I don't think I will get any more phone calls about her hair though I told the school if I got any more I would charge them with harassment. (I would not really do that but I am so sick of the hair issue)  I went to the hair salon and got some dry hair treatment and came home and wow it ever help so much with combing her hair.  I also got her a hair appointment to get her hair cut the next day. I got some dry hair shampoo and so far her hair has been much better.

Three nights a week I take my friends daughter and we do some sort of activity.  We go for walks, play at the park, play hockey and of course play in the snow. Katherine loves to play hockey so one night we went to the out door rink but she really didn't like the ice so the next time we went to the school parking lot.  Dexter, Paul, Nick, Katherine and I went and played.  It was fun.  Nick does really good with Katherine, he watches out for her and makes sure she is OK and having fun.  Katherine has a very funny sense of humour.  She always makes us laugh.

Work, Dana's hair, out door rink

The other day I took the camera to work and got some pictures of myself and Dexter hard at work.  It was kinda cold but the sun was shinning.  I don't mind the job, I am still home for a bit and can still volunteer.  This is the pathway that I walk up to my cross walk.

At lunch time I take a milk crate and sit on that, and take my ipod and listen to music.  I don't usually get anybody and I find if I sit at noon it saves my feet for the rest of the day, especially when I am back in just an hour and then stand for another hour and a half.  Then on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays I go walking with Katherine so my feet get tired.  They are getting better now and not so sore.

I am walking up to meet Dexter to get a picture of him and this is what I see.

At lunch time he sits in the chair listens to music and texts on his phone.  What an easy time.

I also took Nick and Brody to the outdoor rink to play some hockey.  They were the only two kids for a bit then some other kids showed up and they had a game.  It was fun and I loved watching Nick fly without all of his goalie gear on.  He is super fast when he skates.

Nick also was called to play for the Fredericton Flames AAA hockey team.  The coach saw him play at one of our games and asked if he could play for them.  It is an awesome experience for Nick.  So proud of him.

Well it happened again, I got another call from Dana's school about her hair, some teachers said some stuff and want her hair combed.  I called the school and told them that if it bothered them that much to let her wear a hat, I mean really? Her head is super sensitive and combing her hair is very painful and causes her to have a headache, is it not more important that she is at school learning? who care about her hair, it is clean sure it is messy but in the grand scheme of things does it really matter?  No I think not.

Hockey, work, Gabbys haircut

Today I was looking at some blogs and thought why have these people not blogged in a while.  Then I thought wait a minute I have not blogged in a while.  Things have been crazy and most days I do not have a minute to think.

Work is going good, I have a wonderful picture of me that I took of myself but it is on my phone and I have no cord to down load it to my computer.  In the morning and after school I am pretty busy but lunch time it is very slow so I take a milk crate and some music.  I find if I walk around or stand on my feet all during lunch time when I go back at 2:00pm my feet get sore.

I also got another job working with my friends daughter three nights a week to go walking or some sort of exercise.  We have gone for walks with Sasha who helps to keep Katherine going and tried out Zomba, which Katherine did not like at all.  We went to the ice rink last night to play hockey while Nick had practise then walked around.  Friday we are going to the outdoor rink with Nick and play hockey, which she is very excited about.

Last Friday and Saturday Nick had three hockey games.  He was in net on Friday and it was a tied game 3 to 3.   He saved 25/28 shots.  That is the lowest amount of shots he has had in a game.  Then we played Saturday morning our other goalie was in net and we tied again 4 to 4. Soon as that game was over we had to head to the next game.  The kids only got about an hour break and they were back on the ice.  Of course we had to play the best team and our kids were really tired.  Nick had 60 shots on him and he saved 50, he worked his butt off but unfortunately his team was just too tired and we lost.  Nick felt really bad that he had let his team down.  His coaches told the team that Nick kept them in the game and it was his fault they lost.  But of course there was a couple of kids who told Nick he sucked and it was his fault they lost.  I was not impressed at all, I have not seen Nick that defeated and upset before, he didn't even want to play or go to the next practise.

But I am happy to say that he did go to the next practise and I told the coach what had happened and he said we told the kids that it was not Nicks fault and he played his best like he always does, the kids just did not support him.  He said he would take care of it and remind the kids about being nice and stuff.  Nick is a good goalie but his team does not help him, as a result he has gotten much better with saving the rebounds.

Nicks team even has there own mascot.  Charlie is one of the boys little brother and he loves hockey and being in the dressing room with them. He loves to wear his Eagles costume.

Nick also got a surprise at the game on Friday.  We told him that his helmet was not going to be done for the game and Chris (the other goalies Dad) felt really bad but it was not ready.  We get to the arena and there was his helmet.  He was super excited.  Yes that is Nick's friend Brody being his silly self.

Nick was super excited about his helmet he wouldn't even put it in his hockey bag it went on top of the hockey tree and he carried it.

Last week I took Gabby in to get her hair cut.  I was combing her hair everyday but then it got cold and I put a sweater on her and her hair got all tangled up what a mess.  She looks different and is not the same puppy, she is coming around but is still not the same.  It stressed her right out and she is different.

I also got a surprise in the mail.  Jodi sent me a fancy new coat, which is so warm and looks so much better than my work coat (I will get a pic and you can see) she got an awesome deal and was thinking of me.  Love you Jodi ;)

Here is Dana after she asked Dexter for some whip cream.  Silly kids.

My dear family, your Christmas presents are still being finished, I still have to write in them, the hardest part for me.  Some days (most) I have no time to work on them but you will get them someday.

Hockey,

Last weekend Nick had a hockey tournament in St. John, the team got put in the wrong group so they were against stronger teams.  They played there best Nick and Brock were awesome in nets.  Nick made 48 saves one game and the other he made 57 saves.  They lost all there games but Nick did awesome.  Most of the parents wanted to pull out and leave, the kids wanted to stay and play.  Most of them were staying in hotels so that is what they were looking forward too.  Paul took the camera but did not take any pictures while he was there.

This weekend we had NO hockey and it was awesome.  Tonight Nick has a game.

On Saturday he went over to Brody's house and played hockey on his outdoor rink.  They have a great time and some of the other kids come over and hang out too.

After Nick had his toast he noticed that the nutella was about empty so he took the jar and cleaned it out.  Funny boy.

Paul was trying to get a picture of Dana she was running around the house.  After he took the picture she was upset he had took her picture.  She hates getting her picture taken.

I had club on Friday but have not taken pictures of what we made so I will take a picture of the cards and scrapbook pages then post them another day.

Here is where we find Dexter most days, all day.  Nick  went upstairs to get a picture of Dexter, mostly to drive him crazy.

I am off to do hot lunch and then back to work, then home for about an hour, watch Till debt do us part, then back to work, home, get ready for  Nick's hockey game, home  make supper, then Paul's hockey game.  What a fun filled day.

Snow Day Today

Yesterday the weather channel kept saying we were under a storm watch.  I figured Dex and I wouldn't make it through the day before we were getting snowed on.  But lucky us we made it home before it started to snow.  It sure was chilly though.  The kids slept with there Jammie's on inside out.  I heard the Snow truck at 5:00am so I thought for sure there would be school but at 6:30am it was announced that school was cancelled.

Paul started the driveway before he left for work and I finished it.

Sasha and Gabby love the snow too, Gabby gets snowballs stuck to her fur, not too fun to get it all off of her either.  Dana and Nick have not been out yet, Nick is too busy playing hockey and Dana is sorting out her toys and reorganising them.

Nick has got another hockey tournament this weekend.  This time it is in St. John, he has a game tonight and two games tomorrow.  He is excited for more games to play.

Dana and I are going to make some cookies and maybe some muffins.  I wanted to get a picture of Dana with her PJ's inside out but she wouldn't let me.  She is a silly girl.
