Surprise visitor and driveway

Sunday afternoon the phone rang and it was Karen our old neighbour that used to live across the street from us.  They got posted to Pet last summer.  She said that she was going to drop off Khloe to surprise Dana.  Oh what fun Dana had just said how bored she was.

Dana was so excited to see Khloe and shocked too.  They talked for a bit then ran upstairs to Dana's room.  A bit later they went out to the pool.  It was so good to see Khloe again.  Dana and Khloe, it was just like old times with the two of them.  After being in the pool for a bit they came in and had a grilled cheese and then Nick got home and they all went outside and ran around.  Then they came inside and went downstairs so I went down to get a picture of the three of them together which took me about 6 times to get a half a good one because Nick wouldn't keep his eyes opened the silly boy.

I wish I had an old photo on this computer to see how much they have grown, the three of them used to play a lot together, running around, playing in the pool and Nick and Khloe were in the same class at school.

I found this pic of Dana and Khloe taken just before Khloe moved.  What a fun day it was the kids all playing together.  Here is one with Khoe and Nick .

What fun it was to see these old pictures of the kids having fun together.  Just like old times again.  It sure made Dana's day to see Khloe again, she sure has missed her.

This morning the workers came to work on the driveways.  Last week when they were working the workers would work for about 1 hour then take a 30 min break.  Well today they must have had a talkin too because today they worked and worked.  I asked one of the workers how many driveways they had to do and he said that they were doing 132 driveways.  Wow that is just a few to do.  Some of these pictures I was hanging out the side window to get the shot.

Our driveway is finished for now.  Hopefully it is not too long before it is finished.

Busy good day

Today has been such a good day.  We have gotten so much done YIPPEE!.  Paul got the vacuum all fixed, a while back he made a vacuum de-cloger and it has come in handy.  I need to be better at emptying the bag more often especially now that we have Sasha who sheds a lot.  He pulled out with his vacuum de-clogger quite a bit of hair and then the vacuum was good to go again.  So after every time I vacuum I need to empty it out just to be sure that it does not clog up again.  But that was awesome that my vacuum still works.

Paul and I ran to the store to pick up a few things and one of them was little pots for Dana's spider plants.  But when we went to the dollar store they had none, so we went over to the kitchen isle and Paul saw this cute little containers so we got those and Paul drilled a couple holes in the bottom for the water.  They are so cute.

These are the baby spider plants that where sitting in a cup with water in a sunny window ledge.  There was a few that the roots were not long enough to transplant yet.  There was still lots left.  I put 3 to 4 baby plants in each "pot" because of there size.

I wait till the roots are at least this big.  I find they have a better chance that way.

Baby Spider plants all done for another day.  Now I just wait to see what happens, sometimes a leaf dies but so far I have had good luck with spider plants.  Dana was up to 20 something spider plants and she gave 16 away so we were down to just four but then she picked off all the baby's again so there is always some around.  This is the first time I have put more than one in a pot, we shall see if that matters.  I just love the cute little pots they are so much better than the other ones.

Last night while Nick was at his soccer game Dana asked if she could make a snack I said sure and this is what she made.  Cut up apples and banana's stacked on top of each other.

When Nick and Paul got home from Nick's game Paul said that he heard a girl say "Yeah we got Nick on our team"  Nick had lots of fun and scored two goals and I am sad to say that he has not taken off his soccer clothes yet.  Sad I know he walks around with the soccer ball in his hands too, so we have been saying oh Nick and his baby.

I also got done a couple of pages too while the kids were playing and the dogs were sleeping.  I have had the pictures for a while and love how they turned out.  I used the aluminum foil again for the flowers.  I forgot to take these pictures in my scrap room so before I put them in the album I sat them on the chair by the window and snapped away.  The Tolley I wrote it out in glue then dumped glitter on top, turned out not too bad.

The above picture is Jodi, Taren, Dexter, Justin, Brooklynn and Tina up at Red Rock and Bears Hump.  Love the pics and miss Waterton so much.

Last Monday my friend Aliss went to Maine to visit her family and she was talking about this out of this world flour so she brought me a bag.  I guess there is something about a new bag of flour that makes ya want to bake, so Nick and I made pumpkin muffins and banana bread.  I used my mini loaf pan that makes four mini loafs from pampered chief.   So yummy it has been a while since we baked anything, I used to bake all the time but some how stopped.  But that is going to change,  Nick and Dana love to bake and it is nice to have muffins and bread in the freezer.

On a sad note my camera's flash has burned out so I have to mail it away to Ontario to get a new bulb put in and they will have it a minimum of three weeks after it gets there.  Not too happy about that, not sure what to do.

rain, rain, come again another day

It has been nice for the cooler days but I am tired of the rain and the kids are tired of the rain.  Although today it has been off and on so they went out in between the rain.  Nick still had a soccer game tonight too.  He is probably going to be dirty when he gets home.  Dana had a tough day today so she just wanted to stay home.

I bit ago I realized that Sasha was not by my feet anymore so I looked around and couldn't see her so I got up and walked around but she was no where so I went upstairs and looked around didn't see her so went into every bedroom and turned on the lights but she was not there.  I was puzzled where did she go?  She is not that small to not be found, I came back down and looked again and found her at the side door laying down looking downstairs.  I think she misses Dexter, who has not been home for a few days and when he was home he was downstairs and she is too scared to go down.

Dana was dressing Sasha again, don't think she cared about it she left it on for a while.

Here is Dana and Nick just hanging out.  They asked if they could make a snack and I said sure and this is what they came up with. Sandwich, apples, cucumber, and cheese a good tasty snack to me.

Paul and the kids where trying to play a game and Mittens jumped up by the TV.  She sat up there for a bit and then started to lay down and get comfortable so Dana got up and got her so they could get playing again.  Funny cat.  I thought so but they didn't.

Dana was having fun with her kite.  She won it at school and it was a good day to give it a try.  Sasha was wanting in the fun too.  These pictures where taken a few months ago because there was snow still.  Today was gray and cloudy just like that day was.

Saturday while I was getting something off the floor (probably a dog toy or dog related) I put my knee out and that night we had Sasha and Gabby in bed with us so I didn't sleep very good because a certain dog needed the whole bed so when I got up I could hardly walk.  So for the last couple of days I have been putting Tiger balm on it, by the end of the day it hurts a lot and it does not matter how I have it sitting/standing.  Going up and down the stairs a hundred times a day does not help either, last night I heated up a heat pack, took a couple of Advil's and then rubbed tiger balm on it again and went to bed.  This morning it felt better but now at the end of the day it does not feel so good anymore.  It is those stinking stairs that is killing me.  I need to just stay upstairs all day and not come down for anything, but that is not going to happen.  Oh well tomorrow is another day to feel as good as new again.  Thinking positive here. :-)  Good news I got a couple of pages done today.

Page done, Swimming at the Wharf, Meeting Angus

I finally got the page done that I have been working on for a few days or a week even.  Some days I just didn't have the time and other days I was not in the groove.

I got these pictures from my Mom when her and Dad were in Ottawa last summer, very cool place to visit, some day I would love to go to the Parliament grounds.  I wanted to scrapbook all the pictures because they show the parliament grounds, and the cool buildings, Terry Fox and Sir. John A. MacDonald sculptures and the Queens Guards.   I was trying to figure out how to make a mini book which the idea came to me while I was picking up Dexter.  Here is what I came up with.

So there is my mini book.  I think it turned out pretty good and it showcases all of the pictures of the parliament grounds.  Just a simple bow ties it closed.

The other day I took Dana and Rebecca to the Wharf.  We were there for about three hours they had a blast playing and jumping in the water.  I personally thought the water was just gross but they had fun.

See what I mean about the water?  We saw a boat with a big sail, a guy on a board , cow island, heard some cows bellering (was so good to hear cows again) I did not see them but could hear them, dogs on a boat, the raft/boat that they use to get the cows on and off cow island.

The above picture is cow island.  And this raft/boat thing is how they get the cows there and back.

Dana and Rebecca got 25 shells too.  They had tons of fun it was a nice day not too hot and no humidity which was a bonus.

My friend Annalee (Logan's Mom) came by with the boys and she brought her dog Angus, he is three years old and Dana loved him he was a big boy, a small pony.  So calm and nice for being such a huge dog.  Even when Sasha was barking at him he just looked at her.  Nice dog.
