Nick's Birthday we had to do things a bit backward because he had hockey practise.  We had supper then he opened his presents and then we went to hockey practise came home and then had cake.  He had a fun day.

AAA hockey has been going great.  Nick has had a lot of fun and worked really hard during practises and has had two shut outs so far in the last month and a half.

Nick has a goalie coach named Brandon and he works Nick hard.  He is a really good teacher and Nick has learned a lot.

Riley, our other goalie, Brandon and Nick after the last practise.

Nick also got an assignment to build a castle for school.  He did it all and worked hard to get it done on time.  We brained stormed on ideas on how to build it.  Nick decided to use foam board and just stamp circles to make it look like rocks but after we did it he did not like the look at all.  So he decided to rip up brown, black and gray paper (thank goodness Mom is a scrapbooker) into pieces then modge podge the pieces onto his cut walls.

Nick cut his own towers made out of flower dry foam then he stray painted them gray.  He loved spray painting them.

He made his own play do, blue for water and brown for earth which he put little rocks on.

Here is Nick using his brown play do and putting rocks into it for around the castle.

The castle is complete with draw bridge and gate.  On the inside is a chapel, garden area, knights area and King and queen's house.  He did an awesome job and got it all done in a week because he kept forgetting to bring the assignment home.  He even had two hockey practises and two games on Saturday.  I hope he gets a good mark for his hard work.

Dana has been on the countdown for her birthday, tomorrow is the big day she can not wait for her birthday.  Wow she will be 13 where did the time go?
