Out of the house

Yesterday I decided I was going to take Dana and Nick out to the Country Pumpkin so Dana could pet and feed some horses. She really didn't want to go and stayed up quite late in hopes I would leave her alone. So when she finally got up I said let's get changed and get going on our adventure. She didn't want to go. (Kids are so frustrating) so I went up to see how Nick was doing in the bathroom with his birds, Shaggy and Scooby.

All three kids wanted birds but Dana tried to pet a big bird and it nipped her finger. Didn't break the skin or anything but after that she wasn't impressed with them. I walked away and let the boys work it out. (At this point in time I have had my fill of kids and really just want some piece without being pestered for things) Nicks bird is Shaggy and he's the green coloured one.  Dexters is the other one Scooby whom is suppose to be a girl. I think Nick got suckered into buying both. But it really doesn't matter cause when Paul gets home in a week he is going to have a fit and they will have to go I am sure. He hates animals.

To be honest these are the two birds I liked but no I would not have gotten them. I took a picture instead. I just think they are so cute.

So the boys have been taking them out of there cage in the bathroom because there wings are not clipped. Oh goodie that was fun the first time cause we didn't know, all over the living room till we finally got Shaggy back.

So back to today, I decided the only way to get Dana out of the house would be to take her for lunch then just go to the Country Pumpkin cause she didn't want to leave the house. So I told her I was taking her to Subway for lunch. It worked she was ok with that. Then after lunch we headed out.

Dana was not too happy she could not even get close to the horses. I was sad too cause I know that would have made her day. We got some fresh veggies, corn on the cob for supper, blueberry pie (nick wanted the pie) then got some ice cream.

Then we came home put our stuff away and Nick and I are at the golf course or driving range rather.

It was a good day, any day is a good day when I can get Dana out of the house. That's a bonus, she's a tough one for sure. Tries my patience and lately she won't even answer she just shrugs her shoulders. She really needs summer school to keep her going. Not so much the school work just the routine of having to do stuff. I am going to have to find something for her for the summers from now on. She holes up in her room, she's like a bear that hibernates only she does it in the summer. I thought it would get easier the older the she got but its just different challenges and not any easier that's for sure. If she makes her mind up there's no changing it.

For example the birds, she loves all animals she wanted her own bird but when that one got her finger she didn't like them. I talked her into going in the bathroom with Dex when he let them out. She hated it said they were too loud and please get rid of them. She was in there less than 5 minutes. Nothing, not time or getting to know them will change her mind, she doesn't like them.

For school lunches if she told me she wanted ham and I gave her turkey cause I was out of ham she wouldn't eat it. She wants ham. Nick on the other eats what ever is in his lunch kit. Not Dana she brought her whole lunch home cause she wasn't in the mood for any of it. I make there sandwich, and they do the rest of their lunch, I have a container in the cupboard and a drawer in the fridge for lunch stuff pick what you want.

Up & going again

I have been having major issues with my blog for the last few weeks. Very frustrating for me.
It seems that my last few posts are not on here anymore. It is frustrating that all my post for this year are gone.
Nick has been busy mowing lawns and earned enough money to by himself a BMX bike. He was super excited about it.

Nick rode his new bike for a couple days then we had rain, lots of rain. When it finally stopped raining he was out riding his bike but the happiness didn't last long, the handle bars kept going down and his seat wouldn't stay on. He was not impressed at all.
He didn't even have the bike a week and it was falling apart. So he took it back, got his money back and went on the hunt for a new bike. He ended up finding a new bike in a new store, he wasn't going to chance another bike from the same store.

I realized after I was looking at these pictures that Nick is wearing the same shirt. Must be a favourite.

I am going to post this and see if it works. Fingers crossed

Last day of school

Last post I mentioned about donating blood.  It was such a good experience and I learned that only 2% of us donate blood which is really sad, get out there and do it!! I am signed up to donate again on Jan 10.  This is my finger that got pricked and Shirley put the smiley face on it.

While we were in Fredericton trying to get Dana to try on shoes for gym class, Nick saw these high heel shoes and wondered how in the world girls wore them.  So he took off his shoe and tried one on.  He said it was very uncomfortable and girls were crazy to wear them.  Dana was not in the mood for shoe shopping.  Love that she has to be in the mood, oh well.

A few weeks ago I had been getting phone calls from Nick's teachers telling me he was having a hard time being good.  So I went in for a meeting and told his homeroom teacher that if he was not good to call me and I would come spend the day with him at school.  Well the next day I got a call, I was not impressed at all because after work I was planning on going home cleaning the house then having a shower.  But I went to school and sat by Nick, I was on him like glue which at the time I didn't think bothered him at all.  He has a girl who LOVES him and wont leave him alone and it really frustrates him.  At lunch time I had to head to work so I left him.  (this was a Monday)

I even took a couple of pictures.  The next day when kids were walking to school I had a couple of kids tell me that Nick was really embarrassed that I was there.  I thought good maybe he will behave himself.  So after work in the morning I headed back to school.  I got there about 9:00am.  I left my stuff at the office and headed upstairs to Nicks classroom.  I stood outside and Nick seemed to be good.  His teacher came out and said it was all good.  She said thank you for coming in and being with him, also she said that some of the other teachers said they wished they had parents that would come in too.

The rest of the week was great, no more phone calls.  The next Monday I went in again after work in case Nick forgot how to be good again.  I went in and sat in the back of the room, and after a few minutes Nick spoke out without raising his hand so I said Nick quiet, he turns around shocked to hear me, he didn't know I was there.  So then I went up and sat by him.  They were picking there clusters for Friday so when they were done he promised he was good and I left.  So far he has been good I have not had to go back to school.  He knows I will come sit with him so he better be good.  What a joy that was.

Dana is excited to use the sewing machine this year at school and picked out some fabric to make herself some PJ bottoms.

Here are some random pictures I have taken while at work.

The above picture I was trying just to get my shadow.  Lunch time is SO BORING!!

I love my iPhone I love the apps that I can use to make cool pictures.
Dana's room, messy then clean.  That was a fun day! Dana woke up and decided she wanted to change her room around.  Took us all day because she wanted to do it herself and wouldn't let me in her room to help her very much.  But as the day went on she let me in and we got it done.
Nick and his hockey team the Mustangs.
Christmas cards.

For the last couple of years our family has been going through a very hard time.  It is very challenging, painful, frustrating, draining, heartbreaking.  My dear Paul has depression and anxiety.  He is not the same person anymore.   He was getting help but after his stupid CO got up and said some very mean things he has stopped getting help.  I know he is struggling and having a hard time with this and is frustrated.  I am frustrated and yes I am depressed too.  Its been very hard on me being Mom and Dad even though Paul is home he is not home.  The kids don't understand (Dex does) and wonder why their Dad is angry and mad or just silent now.  Hockey is about the only thing that keeps him going.
I have stopped living also.  I am at a loss and don't know how to help Paul.  I have shut people out, because I have nothing good to say.

Some changes have to be made, I have got to start living again and maybe then I can help Paul.  He does surprise me though and I see his old self but not for very long.  One day is was really cold out and he dropped the kids off at school then made me some hot chocolate and brought it to me at work.  I was so surprised and know he can get better.

Its going to be a new year and a better year!

Well that's it from the photo freak as Nick calls me.  Next time I will have Nick's badminton-he made the team, and other stuff.

Almost Christmas

It has been such a long time since I have posted anything, things have been going on but just have not had the heart to sit at the computer.

One Saturday Nick and Travis were saying they were bored so I told them that  they could take the fence down so they got out some hammers and tore the fence down.  It kept them busy for a while and the fence came down.

On October 3 I was almost hit by a car twice which made me decide that my stupid little vest was not enough for cars to see me so I went and got a big bright orange jacket.

There next few pictures are ones I took at lunch time while at work.  I just love how the leaves change colours.

Mittens has always loved to get into people's dresser drawers and once she is in the drawer she digs and empties it out.

I got to go to a Women's retreat at the MFRC for the day.  It was so nice and peaceful.  I got to do laughter yoga, head massage, meet other ladies, it was a very very nice day.  I also got a Henna tattoo.

Dana and Nick hate me taking pictures of them so I have to sneak them in.  Here is one I took on the way to work and school in the morning.

Halloween night came and the kids got ready to go and Dana was handing out candy and just when she decided to go out it started to rain.  So we hung out in the front entry and waited for kids to come.

I love walking in the leaves in the fall.

I went with Katherine and Shirley and donated blood.  It was a good experience.  They ask you tons of questins, prick your finger, ask more questins then they hook you up.

I can not upload anymore pictures so that is all for now.
