AAA hockey,

A month ago or so we got a phone call asking if Nick would like to join the Fredericton Flames AAA hockey team he didn't need to try out he was on the team if he wanted.  The coach had seen a couple of Nicks games and wanted him for there goalie.  Nick was excited.  Here is his new jersey and jacket.

Here are a few pictures from the last couple of games he has had.  Nick has practise twice a week then games on the weekend.

On Saturday Nick played two games the first game we won 9 to 1 and Nick got his first shut out for the second game, he also got the MVP game ball too.

I also made some stir fry and it was sooo good, I love stir fry it is so yummy.

While we were in Maramichi we drove over the bridge to where the old base was.  Paul was in Chathum in 1992 for a course.  It was cool to drive around the old base, it was sad that a lot of the buildings were tore down. This is one of the shacks that Paul stayed in when he was there.

This is the 4AD building that he worked in when he was there.

We had a really fun day watching Nick and his team play hockey, going to the old base and then we went to Beney and Chris's for a BBQ.  I will share pictures of that later.

Lake Placid

Nick and Paul had such a good time down in Lake Placid, Nick's highlights were: robbing a AAA player, meeting Chris Pronger, playing at the Olympic Centre, going on a big bus, pretty much everything.  Here are a couple of group pictures.

The next few pics are of Nick and his team getting ready to play some games.

Here is the glove save that Nick robbed the AAA player.  Awesome move

Nick got to do the skills and drills for his team, he did awesome and came in 4th out of 12 goalies.

Nick played awesome when he was in net they won 5 to 2.

The next pic and video go together.

I love how our two goalies give each other pep talks in between the periods.

They won the game 5 to 2 way to go boys.

Lake Placid

Paul and Nick had an awesome time down in Lake Placid.  They left Thursday morning around 6am got down there just in time for the opening ceremonies.  They got to go on a big bus, which the kids loved and had a great time.

The kids had fun on the bus, a couple parents fell asleep.

Soon as they got there the kids had to put on there blue jerseys and head into the Olympic centre.  the first picture is them getting off the bus walking toward the centre.

I am going to talk to Nick and Paul to see what they did next and organise the pictures for another post.

Last week Nick had a Heritage Fair project due and did an awesome job presenting it.  He did it in his class and his teacher gave him an A Plus.  The judges said he did a great job talking about his project he won.  There was 8 kids and Nick is one of the 8 kids.  He was gone when it was announced so he will find out today when he goes to school.

Opening a coconut, Beney and Chris

For a while now Dexter has wanted to get a coconut and open it up, so we finally saw one at the groc store.  Dex had tried to open on up before but it did not work out too good so he had some other ideas on how to get it open.  He got some tools gathered up and we started cutting the thing open. We started with a tiny hole then went to a bigger one, dumped the milk out then went around the whole thing making holes and broke it open.

Katherine was over and played the Wii with the kids, and of course Sasha is always right beside her.

Last weekend friends of mine Chris and Beney were moving so we put some stuff in the van and followed them out to there new house.  It was nice out in the country, a nice little drive.  Chris and Beney used to live a couple of houses down from us so I am going to miss seeing them and going for walks with Beney.

Of course Dex had to pretend to throw Nick off the Deck, man older brothers are such a pain.  (That is what Nick said)

Beney was trying to get Chris's wheel chair out of the van and was having some troubles so Chris gets in and out she came no troubles at all.  Those two are so funny, I just love them.

After we got the stuff in the house we went out for supper.  We let Beney and Chris decide and they chose East Side Mario's.  When we pulled into the parking lot Nick was not happy about having to eat there.  We have never eaten there but I guess he went with a friend and didn't like what he had.  I said just try it and don't hurt Beney's feelings by being rude.  So we went in and had to wait of course Nick held the buzzer.  We had a great time and Nick loved the food, he kept saying he wants to eat there for his birthday.

The next day Beney called to see if Nick and Dana wanted to go swimming at the hotel.  So we went over the kids went swimming and Beney and I bonded.  It was a very fun afternoon.

For some reason I can not upload any more pictures so I will have to do more later.

Paul and Nick had an awesome time in Lake Placid.  I will post them when I get the pictures on my computer.  They didn't get home until 2 in the morning.
